Next Kitchens Project

This project consisted of 5 phases:

Phase 1 Planning

Planning is the most important part of starting any project and working closely with the customer on design and timelines for the required work, as professionals are goal at Right 1st Time Property Maintenance is to ensure that the customer is always happy and aware of any planning changes at all times.

Phase 2 Demolition

This work will only take 1 day as the old kitchen is removed and disposed of, taking care that the old electrics, plumbing and gas lines are capped off before demolition commences, usually we will insist on the client not being present during this process as we have a responsibility for health and safety of the client and any animals present as this can be a lot of dust and noise, we also take great care that all personal items are covered or packed away.

Phase 3 Rewire and Plumbing

New kitchen designs will always require new drainage and new wiring depending on the positioning of the appliances, as a matter of policy Right 1st Time Property Maintenance will always inspect the wiring and plumbing to ensure it will not leak and the wiring is safe, this project was a prime example of that as the entire room require re-wire with the correct appliance isolator switches and the plumbing replaced to include the water isolator and main stop valve to ensure no leaks once the kitchen units are installed.

Phase 4 Assembly and Installation of Kitchen

All kitchen suppliers are different most kitchen like this one from Next Kitchens comes flat-packed this is relevant information that needs to be obtained on your planning phase, as it will take up to 3 days to assemble all the units, this kitchen was a little different as well as coming flat pack the kitchen units didn’t arrive with plans to assemble, making it even more important that a set of comprehensive plans were provided with the unit measurements, once assembled the floor is laid so the kitchen sits on the floor making the room seamless.

Phase 5 Tiling and Decoration

The end process is the tiling and decorating, the dressing of any kitchen, this is the most important phase and we ensure that all appliances are tested and there are no water leaks.

This whole process for this kitchen took 1 week from Phase 2 to 5 at a cost of under £3000 in labour due to having tradesmen with multiple trade skills negating the need for additional tradesmen to be employed.
